Synopsis: Winter in Bruner, Wisconsin. Snow piles endlessly while the people of Bruner go about their daily lives. During this time of year, the population is somewhat less than during the summer. For this small town, its' local residents cater to the wealthy who arrive for the warmer months and reside in their spectacular 'summer estates'. So it is unusual when Cindy Prescott arrives one winter day at her family's estate. Equally unusual is that during her stay she is brutally murdered.

Lead investigator for this crime is Sheriff Paul Summers. There is a problem with this case though, as Paul was the last person to see Cindy alive. Not only had he seen her on this last visit, but their complicated history lends the town's people to also view Paul as the prime suspect.
While the investigation continues, rumors abound of a cult that has formed outside of town and the disappearance of another resident.
Sheriff Summers need to solve this case. Another winter storm is brewing and evidence will be buried under the heavy snow. The clock is ticking. The elements are working against him, and Paul must find the true killer before he becomes one of the next victims.
