Extreme Measures • Michael Palmer • Book Synopsis
Bantam Book 1991
Eric Najarian would make his family proud. One of two candidates for the position of Associate Director of White Memorial Hospital's emergency service in Boston, Eric was sure of his win.
Days before the committee was to announce their decision, Eric receives a phone call. The distorted voice that is heard announces to Eric that a group who calls themselves Caduceus, would ask him to administer a treatment to a patient in the ER. If he did as asked, the position that Eric coveted would be his.
In his indecision to accept the proposal of Caduceus, Eric and his best friend Dave find more questions than answers to some unusual circumstances happening in the emergency room. To stir up the pot, Eric befriends Laura Enders, who arrives in Boston searching for her missing brother Scott.
How or why these two divergent paths cross will be an adventure. What does a Boston hospital have to hide? Why does no one know Scott Enders? And what does all of this have to do with a mental hospital in Charity, Utah?Moderator, LTM Reading Group
