Book Selection for October 27, 2009: Pulse, by Jeremy RobinsonWhen your best friend asks for your help, you don't question it, you just do it. That's how Jack Sigler finds himself in Peru.

Jack's lifelong friend Dr. George Pierce, an archaeologist, has left his research and traveled to Peru where an ancient artifact has been unearthed. George knows that he will need a bodyguard to protect this artifact from inevitable thieves. What better bodyguard than your best friend, Jack, who also is a member of the Delta Force working for the U.S. Government.

When Jack joins George in Peru and is being shown the artifact, all hell breaks loose. A group of men descend upon the site killing or wounding all of the excavation team. Jack is left buried under the now destroyed site. He does unearth himself only to find that the artifact has been stolen and his friend kidnapped.

The Delta Force team (headed by Jack, code name King, and the members Queen, Rook, Bishop and Knight) travels the world to find George. While they are searching, the team crosses paths with a man on a very special mission. He is looking for the key to immortality.
