Crow Lake • Mary Lawson • Book Synopsis
The Dial Press/Random House, Inc. 2002
Crow Lake in rural Canada, is the home of the four orphaned Morrison children. The parents died just before their oldest son Luke was to leave for college. With their passing, Luke gave up this goal to take on the responsibility of raising his younger siblings. But what did a 19 year old know about rearing children?
Relatives did not live close by, jobs were scarce, and money was almost non-existent. Fortunately for this family, the community was their to lend a helping hand.
Regardless of these circumstances Luke, Matt, Kate and Bo make a life for themselves. Their hunger for knowledge leads each of them to a life outside the family, but their formative years bond them together. Some leave home, some stay. It doesn't matter. They are the Morrison family from Crow Lake.
